A leading provider of e-banking solutions for credit unions.
E-Banking Front-End Transformation with .NET and Angular
The project aimed to enhance the Customer's online bill pay functionality and address the challenges associated with an experimental code base. The Customer had already made significant progress on their online bill pay project but faced several challenges.
The existing code base, originally developed as a university project, lacked the robustness and scalability required for a commercial product. Additionally, the Customer needed to integrate with a third-party service provider, Fiserv, for seamless bill payment processing.
Improving was brought in to help the Customer complete the online bill pay functionality and tackle the technical complexities. Leveraging our expertise in .NET and Hibernate, we worked closely with the Customer's development team to rewrite and enhance the existing code base. Our team also collaborated with the Customer to integrate the third-party service provider, Fiserv, ensuring a smooth and reliable bill payment experience for users.
.NET: Leveraging the power of the .NET framework, we developed robust and scalable solutions for their front-end upgrades.
Hibernate: We utilized Hibernate as the database framework to ensure efficient data management and retrieval.
Angular: Their original front-end technology was based on Angular, which we utilized to enhance and extend the existing functionality.
Significant Growth: Since the completion of the project, the Customer has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from a quarter of a floor in a building to three full floors. The company’s employee count has also multiplied, reflecting the success and scalability of their e-banking suite.
Enhanced Functionality: By partnering with Improving, the Customer was able to achieve their goal of implementing online bill pay, a critical component of their e-banking suite. The improved functionality allowed them to offer a superior user experience and compete effectively in the market.
Streamlined Operations: Our collaboration with the Customer helped them identify the need for a complete rewrite of their code base, resulting in a more efficient and maintainable system. This optimization ultimately reduced operational complexities and improved overall productivity.
Reflecting on the project, we identified a few valuable lessons:
Effective Communication: Clear and open communication between all stakeholders is crucial for successful project outcomes. In hindsight, we realized the importance of voicing concerns about task allocation and ensuring that our efforts were aligned with the client’s goals.
Holistic Solution Development: Although staff augmentation projects can be challenging, we found that developing complete solutions, as opposed to individual components, often yields better results and fosters stronger partnerships.
Through our collaboration with the Customer on the front-end upgrades project, Improving successfully addressed their business challenges and helped them achieve significant growth. By enhancing their online bill pay functionality and optimizing their code base, the Customer was able to offer a superior banking experience to credit unions and their customers. This case study exemplifies our expertise in software development and our commitment to delivering impactful solutions that drive business success.
